My Valentine

Mixed Media on Canvas. A playful interpretation of botanical forms and heartstrings in a contemporary multi layered painting.

I’ve used multiple layers of colour here, in a range of mediums from acrylic inks, oil bars, and pastels, with metallic gold highlights. I’ve used a wide variety of mark making techniques too, to bring interest on each of the layers for maximum effect. My love of textiles, decorative arts and botanical forms are all fused here, to create a vibrant yet gentle floral painting. Finished in oils, then all sealed with a satin finish, protective art, museum quality varnish.
