Beneath The Shifting Sky

My method for painting this series of landscapes, was to immerse myself in the land, some days walking for miles, noting my feelings and emotional response to the land whilst walking. I then return to the studio and work from my memories and notes of that day, giving my response freely to the canvas. 

 'Dartmoor skies are never quite what they seem, they shift and turn and can change in a heartbeat'. These words are written in the paint on the top right hand side of the canvas. I had noted this phrase in my notes from the walk. This painting was created  between June & October 2025.

The original painting is 100 x 100 x 5cm and professionally framed with a cream painted box frame, which is rounded on the face adding a stylish and quality finish to the work. Finished size is 105cm x 105cm x 6cm.
