Restorative Art Workshop in Dartmoor National Park

• Two-Day Nature Immersion: Spend two days exploring the stunning landscapes of Dartmoor National Park, one of the most beautiful and peaceful parts of Devon.

• Sketch and Draw: Enjoy the serenity of Dartmoor as you sketch and draw the breathtaking views, from rolling hills to fascinating plant forms.

• En Plein Air Watercolour Sessions: Create watercolour paintings outdoors, directly in the landscape, capturing the vibrant colours and textures of nature in my favourite scenic locations.

• Reconnect with Nature: Feel restored by the natural beauty and tranquility. The peaceful surroundings offer a perfect escape from everyday life, allowing you to recharge and nurture your creativity.

• Inspiration from the Great Outdoors: Get inspired by the ever-changing beauty of Dartmoor’s unique landscape, from ancient woodlands to rugged granite tors and flowing rivers.

• Small Group Experience: Work in small groups for a personalised, hands-on experience where you’ll receive individual attention and guidance. Max 6 people.

• Open to All Abilities: Whether you're a beginner or experienced artist, this workshop welcomes everyone. No prior experience is necessary—just a passion for nature and a desire to create!

• Restorative and Creative: This workshop is as much about relaxation and rejuvenation as it is about making art. Take time for yourself and experience the therapeutic benefits of creating in nature.

Duration: A two day workshop - Walking both days, so a moderate level of fitness is required along with comfy walking boots.

I'll be sharing my tips, methods and advice to gently guide you on your own art journey.

Accommodation Options for Your Art Break

• Stay in Comfort: For those looking to stay close by, I offer a comfortable room in my home for an additional cost. I can also offer you collection from Exeter St. Davids railway station if required. Making it a fully immersive weekend art break. With 1 - 3 night art stays and an evening meal included too. Please just email me for full details. 

• Alternative Accommodation: If you prefer to book your own accommodation, there is a wide selection of options in the area, including charming pubs, B&Bs, and hotels.

• Mill End Hotel: Located in the National Park near the workshop starting point. They offer comfortable rooms, fine dining and a great location. Availability is limited, so please check with the hotel directly. millendhotel.com

• Workshop Location: Our sessions begin on the scenic banks of the River Teign, close to the National Trusts Castle Drogo & Mill End Hotel. This beautiful stretch of river is a peaceful and inspiring place to start our creative journey. We’ll also be keeping our eyes peeled for kingfishers & deer, which are often spotted in the area, adding an extra touch of magic to the experience. If wild swimming is your thing, there are places along the river to dip your toes - although this is not part of our session schedule. 

• A Truly Restorative Location: Dartmoor is renowned for its beauty, tranquility, and sense of calm, making it the perfect environment for creativity and restoration. Whether you choose to stay locally or at my home in the mid Devon countryside, you’ll be surrounded by the natural beauty that makes this area so special.
