Please read all the information below in FULL before booking your stay.

Newland Mill House is a Grade II listed property filled with original features. Originally the home of the mill owner, it sits near the banks of the River Taw adjacent to the mill building. Whether you're coming for a lino print weekend, or Walk, Draw & Explore Dartmoor break, you are warmly welcomed to stay at Newland Mill House for the duration of your workshop. A restful, fully catered experience from start to finish.

What to Expect:

  • A warm Devon welcome awaits: Arrival from 3.30pm on the Friday with a Homemade Devon Cream Tea waiting for you.

  • A comfy room: We have three comfy and freshly refurbished bedrooms available for 2025. 1 x Twin, 1 x Double & 1 x King. All with Tea and coffee making facilities, a desk and oodles of arty cosiness. The bedrooms are not en-suite, but they do have nice private facilities just a couple of steps from the door. Twin and king rooms share one bathroom just between them, with a large bath and up and over shower & WC. The double room has solo use of a shower room with WC and small basin, just across the hall. You will also have use of the studio to continue your art, after the workshop is over if desired.

  • A Catered Stay: With small group sizes we will all meet around the table for an arty dinner on Saturday & Sunday once the class is done. We offer a healthy veggie breakfasts and a home cooked evening meal throughout your stay.

  • *Please note* This is my home, and not a commercial kitchen. Everything is loving prepared by me in my home kitchen. Sadly, I cannot cater for people with allergic dietary requirements at this time - I'm sorry. However, I do offer a homemade varied fresh vegetarian menu made with locally sourced produce and always the freshest of ingredients.

  • You Don't Drive? No problem. We can arrange a transfer from Exeter St. Davids or Okehampton railway stations for a small additional charge. Both stations are served by Great Western Railways from London. Exeter also has an airport which is approx 45 mins away or there is also coach travel available. Just email me your travel arrangements and we will try our best to assist your arrival here.
    • Restorative Creative Practice: You’ll find this art workshop retreat the perfect opportunity to relax and immerse yourself in art.

    • Nearby Attractions: Should you want more, there are lovely nature walks and many visitor attractions nearby. If you have a car you can easily head to the North or South Devon coastlines and the South West Coastal Paths. Including the easy trip into Cornwall.

    • Numerous National Trust properties to visit in this area, please see the National Trust Website for details. Our favourites are Castle Drogo, Lydford Gorge and the Teign Valley walk to Fingle Bridge. RHS Rosemoor is a 35 minute picturesque drive away, Dartmoor National Park is on the doorstep and Exeter is well worth a visit too -the cathedral is spectacular, the list goes on.... If it's nature you're after, you'll want to stay longer - or even come again!

    • Additional Studio Time Included: You are welcome to use the studio (un-supervised) after the class is over.

    • Departure time: Although it will be sad to say good bye, we ask that you  vacate your room by 10.30am on the Monday of departure.
